Mariah and Alex’s Robbins Preserve maternity photos are some of our favorites EVER! This was our first photo session after a loooong break (thanks to COVID 😒), and it was an absolutely magical return to shooting!!

You wouldn’t know it from the photos, but Robbins Preserve was pretty popular that day with people biking, walking, and enjoying the wide-open spaces while social distancing! Robbins Preserve is a great place to do a photo session in the time of COVID, because there is just so much space!

(Coronavirus side note from Micaela: I gotta admit, it was SUPER weird shooting with a mask on 😳 It kept fogging up my camera’s viewfinder! And when I caught a glimpse of my reflection in the car mirror wearing that mask, it was so surreal! Kind of scary, since it’s such an abnormal sight! But SO worth it. Besides, with the lenses we use, we’re normally more than 6 feet away anyway!)

Mariah booked her maternity session with us all the way back in January!! We were so glad the parks opened up and Florida went into phase one of COVID recovery in time for us to shoot their session without rescheduling! (And just before all these crazy tropical storms started happening!)

We had SO much fun hanging out with Mariah and Alex while capturing their maternity photos! The funny thing is, we didn’t photograph their wedding, but it felt like they were one of our C&M Couples who we’ve known for years!

We even found a new favorite spot to shoot in Robbins Preserve – there was this gorgeous tree with the light shining through just right! 💕 (You’re gonna wanna add these to your maternity photos Pinterest board, #justsayin’ 😘)

Also, in case you are as obsessed with her dresses as I am (that pink floral one is to die for!!! 😍), you need to check out PinkBlush! They have the most gorgeous dresses and clothing for women and expecting mamas!

Check out the ones Mariah wore here: White dress | Pink floral dress

Mariah answered some questions to tell the story of their little one!

Read on to see their Robbins Preserve maternity photos and to hear from Mariah 🙂

Q: When is the little one due?

A: August 10, 2020

Q: Do you know the gender?

A: GIRL 💞

Q: Have you thought about names? If so, is there a special meaning or reason behind the name you chose?

A: We do have a name, but we’re keeping it a secret until she arrives! There isn’t a real meaning behind the name, but I really wanted something unique. Baby names are so hard to find a common ground on and Alex happened to like the one we chose (my favorite 😁) the best.

Q: What do you think she will be like?

A: I have a vision of her having a full head of dark hair like her daddy with beautiful olive skin! I’m praying she has my green eyes! We got a 3D ultrasound done and although she only let us get a few good shots of her she seems to have some chunky cheeks and the cutest lips I’ve ever seen!

Q: What are you looking forward to once the baby is here?

A: Just holding her and having a little mini-me! Starting this new chapter with Alex, and really evolving into a mom. I’ve always wanted to be a mom but never knew how excited I’d be to be the best version of me for a little girl!

Q: What has been the most difficult trimester for you?

A: Definitely the first! I was really tired and really sick all the time! I’m a super active person so it was really difficult to take a step back from doing the things I enjoyed, like running!

Q: Are you redecorating a room as a nursery for the baby?

A: Yes! We are almost done, we went with safari glam. So we have greenery and baby animals with flower crowns and touches of pink and gold throughout. I’m waiting for TJMAXX to reopen so I can go wild with the rest of the decor! Lol

Q: What has been the most fun part of preparing for the little one?

A: Really, everything! I loved building the registry, and watching my Pinterest board nursery come to life. Watching Alex become so excited every week with the new facts and size of the baby! I’m lucky, I’ve had a really good pregnancy!

Q: Have you had any cravings? If so, what?

A: You know, I really haven’t had anything out of the ordinary, which is kind of a bummer cause you hear about all the odd cravings but I mostly craved carbs, so I’ve had a lot of pizza and pasta! 😋😋 But I guess the one thing I really craved in the first trimester that I could literally smell in my house was Dunkin Donuts bagels!

Q: What are your dreams or prayers for the little one’s future?

A: I hope she accomplishes everything she sets her mind to. Even though we live in quite a crazy time, I hope we are able to teach her she can do anything she wants, big or small. Every step she takes is part of her story, and with every step she takes I hope she holds her head high! Ok I’m crying 😂

Q: Is there anything else you’d like to share – a story, something special about the stage of life you’re in?

A: I’m just really grateful! This little one is our rainbow baby. We were pregnant before we got pregnant with this little one and it was really tough – but we know everything happens for a reason, and we are so thankful to have been able to get pregnant again with a healthy baby girl, so we’re really cherishing every moment of this pregnancy and every ultrasound!

Mariah left us the SWEETEST review,

and it sums up exactly how we felt as well! We felt like we’d known these two forever! Read her review below 🤗

“I wish I could give Chris and Micaela more than 5 stars. I had been following them on Instagram for a while (about 2 years), and was waiting for the right moment, and chapter in my life to book. Well, fast forward a year and a half, I was ready to book maternity photos – and I am so HAPPY that I booked with them. Not only are they responsive, but they are so genuine and really are interested in making your experience with them the best of the best. I booked them in January and just had my shoot about a week ago. The photos came out absolutely incredible, better than I could have asked for.

“During the shoot, as photo sessions can be a tad awkward, they made us feel so comfortable and like they had known us forever. I really appreciated that.

“I will absolutely be booking them again in the near future once our daughter is born for some family photos! If you are looking for genuine people and great photographers, these are your people. 10/10 recommend to anyone.

“Thank you again, Chris and Micaela – we cannot wait to work with you again soon!
