Laura and Francis could not have picked a more beautiful spot or a more beautiful day for their Fergus Ontario engagement photos!
It was spring 2018. The trees were blooming, the sun was glowing, and we had the Wellington County Museum grounds all to ourselves!
I (Micaela) knew Laura and her family from church events and homeschooling when I was growing up. We didn’t keep in touch very much as we got older, but most of her older siblings went to my family’s church!
I remember one day in high school I was on Pinterest and saw a picture of the CUTEST, daintiest pink bow necklace, and when I clicked on the tutorial of how to make it, I realized it was Laura’s! I have to admit… I never ended up making the necklace, but I was super impressed and loved her style!

So when she said she was getting married and needed a photographer, I knew we would be the perfect fit!
Chris and I met Laura and Francis over tea and coffee to get to know them both better before their engagement session, and we loved hearing the story of how they met! They’re so perfect for one another!
They also put up with us telling the very long, VERY detailed story of how we met, haha! We were still brand new to our relationship and every tiny piece of the story was so important! Thanks for listening to us, friends 🤗💕
The Wellington County Museum and Archives is such a classy location for a Fergus Ontario engagement photos, and it’s a wedding venue as well! My cousin had her wedding reception here when I was younger, and I remember that I absolutely loved getting to explore the grounds with my siblings and cousins!
Every time I see it, I obsess over Laura’s engagement ring. It’s so gorgeous and dainty, which is exactly how I like my jewelry!!
I remember that I may or may not have kept mentioning it to Chris as a little hint for the general style and daintiness I wanted my engagement ring to have 😉 Haha!
Their details were absolutely on point! Francis’s navy blue tie was covered in tiny elephants, which Chris loves, and I couldn’t get enough of Laura’s blush pink ballet flats! I still need to get my hands on a pair!
