It’s been over two years, but we will never forget Naomi and Wyatt’s Longans Place wedding! From the vibrant tropical flowers to the deep love shared between these two sweet humans and their families, the whole day still stands out as one of our favorite weddings ever.
I think the biggest reason for this is that Naomi and Wyatt really brought their personalities into every part of the day! Here are some of our favorite things they did:
- They took some time to pray together during their first look, which made that sweet moment even more meaningful for them!
- Their tropical florals were some of the most vibrant and colorful wedding flowers we’ve ever photographed!
- As they’ll explain, they played both English and Spanish music together during the reception to mix their cultures!
- They said their own vows (We still remember when Wyatt vowed to kiss Naomi at every red light 💕)
- They even had a signature pose! These two are amazing at “the dip,” so you might see it a couple times in this post!
Shout out to Naomi and Wyatt’s amazing videographer, Jonathan from Top Level Media! He was so great to work with!

From Naomi & Wyatt:
Q: What was your favorite part of wedding planning?
A: Making the invitations was a special part of wedding planning for us! A friend or ours designed the invitation and Wyatt laser cut them out of acrylic. I hand made the outer envelopes, and designed a wax stamp seal. Wyatt created the wax stamp with a CNC machine. We were able to use his passions and talents and made something truly beautiful!
Q: How did you feel while getting ready?
A: Wyatt felt like he didn’t know what was going on- he was finally to the point that he knew he was going to spend the rest of his life with me- he felt relief from all the planning! Naomi felt excited and couldn’t wait to marry the love of her life!
Q: How did your bridal party/family help you in the beginning of the day?
A: The guys helped Wyatt relax and celebrate the day! Naomi’s mom and sister helped her get dressed. Susan, one of Naomi’s bridesmaids did her makeup!
Q: Did you do a first look? If so, why did you choose to do it and what was that moment like?
A: We chose to do a first look to have an intimate moment together before the festivities began. The moment was stunning. We got to have a moment to soak each other in, to soak in the moment, and pray together. We are so glad we had the opportunity to do a first look!! We also got to take our bridal party pictures beforehand and that saved us a lot of time!
Q: How did you feel when you walked down the aisle?
A: My heart was pounding. I was elated, full of love, joy, and excitement! There is something special about knowing what is happening at that moment is God fulfilling His promise to you.
Q: How excited were you for the food at the reception and what did you eat?
A: Super excited! We ate salmon and churrasco! But we didn’t get so much time to eat – it was a busy night!
Q: What was your favorite song that played that night?
A: Our first dance song – it was a mix of At Last by Etta James and Suavemente by Elvis Crespo. Having English and Spanish in our first dance was a symbol of our cultures mixing together.
Q: What moments of your day will you never forget?
Q: Wyatt will never forget when I squeezed his hands so tight I was nearly crushing his fingers. I will never forget our first dance. It was such a fun moment. We love to dance together – Wyatt dances and twirls me around the kitchen, in the bedroom, in parking lots and everywhere he had a chance to! It was momentous to be twirled around in a pretty dress!
Q: What did you love about your vendors?
A: Longans Place took care of almost everything and it was such a relief. The fact that nearly everything was packaged as one package. Longans place was gorgeous and paid attention to every detail. Susan, my bridesmaid, did my makeup and made me feel like a gorgeous glowing bride! The makeup from Moody’s Makeup lasted the whole night and I was glowing! We loved that our photographers, Chris and Micaela, were so personal with us and experimented with fun shots with us in our engagement shoots and the day of the wedding!
Q: Is there anything you would do differently?
A: We would maybe add an extra hour to the actual wedding. We didn’t want the fun to end! The time goes by so fast.
Q: What do you love the most about being married?
A: We get to sleep with our best friend each night. Being married has made us a better team. We have gone through highs and lows and we have been able to lean on each other and grow closer through it.
Q: Is your marriage now different from what you would have expected your marriage to be when you were first married?
A: It’s better than what we thought. Just. So good when you have God at the center of your relationship.
Q: What’s something your spouse has done to make your marriage better?
A: Wyatt loves so hard. He gives people the benefit of the doubt and sees the best in people. He reminds me that life is good – and to see the positive in every situation. He has taught me how to go with the flow more and be more adventurous!
Naomi has taught me to be organized a little bit! It was a challenge – but she has made me see the importance of being organized. She has also showed me how to communicate. Most of all, she has given me my beautiful daughter Mackenzie!
Q: What advice would you give to a newly engaged couple?
A: Dream big. Don’t say you can’t do anything! Make sure you listen to your partner, and communicate your needs.
Q: Anything else you’d like to share?
A: Dave Ramsey recently said “A bigger wedding doesn’t mean a better marriage”. A wedding is a beautiful day that marks you- one of the best days of your life! But every day gets better and your love grows bigger with the little moments. Some of the best parts of marriage are not the “flashy/social media worthy” parts- they are the tender intimate moments just shared between you and your spouse. The tears you shed together. The prayers you pray together. The belly laughs you laugh so hard that you can’t breathe. Cling to those moments. What you remember most about your wedding is the experience- not the things. We chose to spend most of our budget on our honeymoon and we are so glad we did!
We recently welcomed our baby girl Mackenzie into the world and it has made our marriage stronger! We are so thankful for our baby girl!
