Our favorite weddings to photograph are the ones that feel completely personalized to the couple. Brianna and Drew’s Sand Key Beach wedding was absolutely filled with sweet personal touches and fun moments! From the full-sized jukebox at their cocktail hour to the choreographed father-daughter dance (the bride and her dad are both dancers!), they truly made their wedding their own!
We asked Brianna and Drew to share a little bit about their day, so read on for a behind-the-scenes look as you scroll through their Sand Key Beach wedding photos!
Q: What was your favorite part of wedding planning?
A: Cake tastings!
Q: How did the last week before the wedding go? Were you prepared, or did things come up that surprised you?
A: Things definitely came up that surprised us but everything got done, which was a relief!
Q: How did you feel while getting ready on the wedding day?
A: Drew says a little nervous and excited. Brianna says excited and hopeful everything would work out (especially the weather!)
Q: How did your bridal party/family help you in the beginning of the day?
A: My mom steamed my dress and veil for me which was probably the biggest help!
Q: How did you feel when you walked down the aisle?
A: Excited, focused, and READY!
She even bought a gorgeous velvet ring box to show off her rings.
Q: How excited were you for the food at the reception and what did you eat?
A: SO excited. At our tasting with the venue, everything was so delicious that we couldn’t wait for the big day. We even asked if we could take a to-go box from our reception because we didn’t get to enjoy everything at the time (due to adrenaline running and not being hungry, not because of time). It was a great decision because we were able to enjoy our wedding dinner all over again a couple days later when we got home.
Q: What moments of your day will you never forget?
A: At the end of the reception, our band called us on stage and all our guests crowded in front. The band played the last song for almost 6 minutes straight, and every single guest was watching us up there and dancing with us. It was like a concert, and it was a great way to end the night!
Q: What did you love about your vendors?
A: Everyone worked so well together, and EVERYONE was so kind, flexible, and accommodating.
Q: Is there anything you would do differently?
A: There’s always a couple things I wish I could go back and change, but at the end of the day they’re little things. As far as how we handled the day as a couple (seeing each other for the first time at the ceremony, speaking our own vows to each other, etc.) I wouldn’t change anything.
Q: What do you love the most about being married?
A: Calling each other husband and wife!
Q: Is your marriage now different from what you would have expected your marriage to be when you were first married?
A: It’s better 🙂
Q: What advice would you give to a newly engaged couple?
A: Enjoy the wedding planning process together- divvy up as much as possible so it’s not too much on one person, but make the big decisions together. It was so fun to plan our future and special day as a couple, we were even able to turn some planning aspects into date nights.
